i am connected to iTunes on my Mac with my iPad 2 and it will not reset. Please advise.

i am connected to iTunes on my MacBook Pro OS X 10.7.5 and trying to restart my iPad 2 iOS 9.5 and it will not reset. Please advise.

iPad 2, iOS 9.3.5, MacBook Pro Lion

You have an issue.


iOS 9 and later require a more current version of iTunes than you can possibly run using such an old OS X version (Lion).


The current iTunes version, iTunes 12.4.3, requires at least OS X 10.8.5 to run (current OS X version is 10.11.6).


Upgrade your Mac's operating system, if possible, and in the future don't let it get so far behind.

Also note the next major Mac operating system upgrade, MacOS Sierra, will be available on Sept. 20.
